Biography
Cherie N. Brown joined the Law School faculty in 2021 as Assistant Professor of Academic Success. Working closely with the Law School’s Academic Success team, Professor Brown helps to engage and familiarize students with all the program has to offer and teaches courses and workshops designed to sharpen students’ legal analytical skills, enhance their academic experience, and increase their preparedness for the bar examination as well as real world practice.
Prior to joining the full-time faculty, Professor Brown served as a small group instructor from 2019–2020 and adjunct professor from 2020–2021 for the Academic Success Program.
Previously, Professor Brown was an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Office of the Corporation Counsel. As a member of the Special Federal Litigation Division, she represented the City of New York and its employees and agencies in federal Section 1983 actions, and as a member of the Family Court Division, she represented the City in juvenile delinquency proceedings. She also served as a fellow for the New York City Police Department.
