Law and Economics

This course emphasizes the usefulness of economic analysis as a tool for understanding real-world problems in the law. The course surveys a variety of legal subjects including, but not limited to, property rights and liabilities, tort and contract damages, criminal sanctions, family law, constitutional law and antitrust. No prior background in economics is required. The relevant economic concepts are developed in the course of analyzing legal problems.

Grading and Method of Evaluation:
Letter grade with pass/fail option. Final exam.
