About the Program
Resiliency, The Built Environment, and How to Pay for What is Needed
Superstorms, chaotic weather patterns, and rising seas are forcing the issue: if we want the built environment to last, we must make changes. This includes not only designing new construction with climate change factors in mind, but also addressing the vulnerabilities of pre-existing building stock. State and city governments have enacted, and are enacting, legislation to combat these environmental issues, and private property owners need to plan for climate change as well. There is a direct correlation between sustainable building practices and resiliency.
To help property owners grapple with these issues, Brooklyn Law School is offering its Third Annual Sustainability and Future Cities Boot Camp to provide participants with some answers on how property owners can: (a) satisfy existing and upcoming legislation, (b) ensure buildings are more resilient and sustainable, and (c) pay to make all of the above happen.
Keynote:
The program will commence with a Keynote address from Rohit T. Aggarwala, Commissioner, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, and New York City Chief Climate Officer.

The program provides 1.5 CLE credits in the State of New York. Partial credit is not available. The credits are transitional and non-transitional and the category is Professional Practice. Materials will be distributed digitally prior to the event. Please print out a hard copy if you would like to have one as a reference. A limited number of printouts will be available upon email request to cle@brooklaw.edu by the deadline of April 5.
The program is free of charge, regardless of whether you attend for CLE credit.
